Since 2000, Vodafone’s web services department has used Unity to develop and maintain applications on the current .co.uk website. As one of the world's best known telecommunication companies, their website, www.vodafone.co.uk, is a high transaction, complex web environment integrated with multiple back-end systems for billing, connections, credit checks, payments and distribution. It is a business critical b-2-c site, providing up-to-the-minute information to customers on products and services and is vital for customer self service, enabling them to manage their accounts.

As their marketplace is highly competitive and marketing led, the IT department must react quickly to changes in products, bandwidth, price plans and licensing regulations. The Head of Web Services wanted to outsource web development and selected Unity as an agile web development team who could turn projects around quickly and meet the tight launch deadlines set by the marketing department.  

We generally work autonomously taking ownership of projects and work packages alongside IBM, Cap Gemini, Sapient, Tibco and other IT suppliers as required.

 We have also delivered projects for call centres, Vodafone Retail, Vodafone Global Enterprise Finance and Vodafone Group Services. Technologies and platforms at Vodafone include Java, Weblogic, Microsoft .Net, Microsoft Office Systems and various web development platforms.
